Welcome, Jess Drysdale, WHOI Sea Grant’s New Research Coordinator

WHOI Sea Grant welcomes Jessica Drysdale, who joined WHOI Sea Grant in May as our research and fellowship coordinator. Jess has been working in the Marine Chemistry & Geochemistry department at WHOI since 2015, including projects exploring carbon cycling in the ocean and understanding the fate and movement of anthropogenic radionuclides from coastal sources. She has a love of the Arctic where she conducted field work for her Master of Science degree, studying mine-waste geochemistry in northern Canada. She spent subsequent summers in Alaska working for the Woods Hole-based Marine Biological Laboratory and had the good fortune to join a research cruise to the North Pole in 2022. She is excited to be working with Sea Grant and its partners to achieve good place-based science that has a positive impact on local communities and economies.
