From the Director

As one of 34 Sea Grant programs, we apply for funding in multi-year increments through submission of an Omnibus proposal to NOAA’s National Sea Grant College Program. I am pleased to report that our funding application for 2022-23 was recently approved, and our staff and researchers are looking forward to continuing to carry out our mission of coastal marine science in service to society. In this issue of Coastal Impacts, you can read more about some of our new activities including 5 research projects that will address several important challenges we are facing with respect to coastal resources. Our team members will employ the findings from recent research in their own outreach efforts, which will include teacher professional development workshops, trainings for coastal resource managers, and assisting the local aquaculture industry, among others. For more details, please check out our newly released program guide and, as always, don’t hesitate to reach out if there is an issue confronting our coasts that you think we should be working on. We welcome your feedback! -- Matt Charette
