What are you doing during your Knauss Fellowship?
I’m working with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM)’s Office of Environmental Programs, where I’m reviewing potential economic impact patterns of oil and gas projects in frontier Outer Continental Shelf planning areas.
What has been the most positive part of being a Fellow? How about the most challenging?
The most positive aspect has been the opportunity to work within the executive branch of the U.S. federal government, which has broadened my professional perspective. Living and working in Washington, D.C. has also helped me build both my professional and social networks.
The most challenging part was managing the logistics of relocating to a new city and adapting to some initial administrative transitions within the federal government at the start of the fellowship.
What’s one thing you’ve learned during your time in Washington, D.C. that has surprised you?
I was surprised by how expansive and dynamic Washington, D.C. is—there’s always something new to explore.

Mother Teresa
What’s the most interesting place you’ve ever visited and why?
Singapore. As a graduate student in the UK, I visited and witnessed a spectacular nighttime water show on the beach. It was an electrifying and unforgettable experience.
What is something about you that people would be surprised to learn?
As a baby, my bed caught fire, and I miraculously escaped unharmed.

What are your plans post-fellowship?
I plan to continue building my career in food sustainability systems and agribusiness, while also maintaining a real estate business and running a charity organization.
What would be your number one recommendation to a younger version of yourself?
Live life to the fullest at every stage.
