Impacts of Human-derived Pollutants on the Coastal Environment

May 3, 2019, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., at the WHOI Ocean Science Discovery Center, Woods Hole, MA. Cost $30.

Explore the ocean with scientists sharing their cutting edge research. Topics covered in this workshop will show the linkages human-derived marine debris/pollutants and the health of our coastal environment.  Experiment on the breakdown of plastic by sunlight based on their color, examine zebrafish under a microscope that have been exposed to various pollutants, and experience research first-hand.  Take home a thumb drive with background material and classroom activities.
